I have the above model and I have been having a strange problem as of late. The UPS doesn't switch to battery power during a blackout and shuts down immediately as if the battery failed. Sometimes it will stay on for a few seconds making short beeps. However, if I disconnect the USB/Data port cable the UPS seems to be working normally during a blackout. I have a 500W PC & monitor connected to the UPS.

The unit is about 10 years old and I just bought a new 7.2 Ah battery. Does anyone know what might be the problem? Could it be a faulty battery?
