I own a BX1300LCD (XS 1300). The unit has been flashing the replace battery icon and beeping occasionally. I purchased a new battery (APCRBC109) and installed it, yet the replace battery icon is still flashing, and it doesn't look like there's any charge, as it shows an estimated run time of 0 minutes.
One of the "pages" when clicking through the display states "Event 32," however I can't seem to find out what that means.
Did I purchase a faulty battery or is the UPS itself the problem? Is there a way to test the battery itself to tell if it's bad?
Thanks for your help,
Damien

Thanks for all your input.
I ended up returning the battery. I'm a little reluctant to buy another one without really proving that the UPS itself is ok.

check the voltage across the battery terminals if you have multi batteries check eack one. they proabably are 12 volt vbatts. so if your voltmeter shows 12 or less, that is indication the batt is bad.

The batteries seem fine. 12.6V for one 13.2V for the other (~26V total). I suspect that the UPS is toast at this point. Just because the replace battery indicator is flashing, does that mean that the batteries won't kick in if the power dies. Though, I suppose that it won't get charged by the UPS if it doesn't see the battery there.

Those batteries are connected in series? Then you have a bad battery, the difference in voltage is too big.
