We had an anticipated whole building power interruption test planned for the weekend and we powered off our UPS to prevent unnecessary beeping. Now the UPS will not reactivate. No Popped circuit breaker, the battery appears to be still connected (The equipment wasn't moved or jostled, just sat on a shelf.) The outlet it still on (an adjacent UPS, plugged into the same outlet circuit stayed activated and powered back on after the interruption). We purchased three of the same devices April 28 2023 and it has been plugged into the same outlet circuits with the same loads as the other two since that time.

A few things to do and consider given it’s under warranty.
- Submit a service request with APC Technical Support. Have your purchase receipt, serial number, and brief description. They will go through the following troubleshooting steps below.
Outlet: Use a True RMS Meter to confirm the outlet is on and providing 120 VAC in North America / Other 220, 230, 240 VAC
Battery: Disconnect the internal battery and measure the DC voltage what is it?!? Should be at least 12.3 ~ 12.90 VDC
If the battery is showing below 11.XX it needs to be externally charged. If it won’t accept a charge the battery is toast - replace!
Brain Dead: Follow the steps outlined in this APC Resource Link:
https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA158947/
Power Chute: Connect the UPS to a computer running APC Power Chute Software. What active faults are present or declared by the system once up and running?!? What does the software say is the input / output of the line voltage, frequency, battery voltage / capacity?!?
All of these things will be asked of you when you engage APC Technical Support. Since you have already done them they will either send you a RMA for a refurbished UPS / Battery.

I had checked that the battery connections were still intact, and I cannot imagine how they would have become dislodged as it has just sat on a shelf, but maybe it was never fully connected in the first place. I went to check the battery voltage and noticed that the red connection came off and when I reconnected it, there was a little spark and so I checked the power button and the unit reactivated. I don't know if it was a single fault or a series of unfortunate events, but it appears to be back in service at this time. Back to work....
