Hello, I have a BR1000G and with PowerChute Personal Edition 3.1. When I perform a self-test from the software or manually from the unit, it switches to battery and back without issue once, waits a few seconds tries again and comes back but loses USB connectivity and then says that the test can not be performed at this time. The USB connection is restored and I can see the realtime stats again.
The USB connection is working as I can get real time stats and when it loses USB connectivity Windows complains and then it comes back. Battery is fully charged and load is just over %50. Not sure why the USB connection seems to reset during the test.
I have tried taking the battery out and leaving disconnected for the reset and also other USB ports without any luck.
I tried this on another computer and it seems to work just fine. Not sure if I need to do a complete uninstall and reinstall? When I do this however my previous information seems to be there still - IE: from my older USP ES750 - is it in the registry?
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Thank you for your response.
I found it was related to the USB 2.0 bus. Not quite sure why, but I have an additional USB 3.0 card and that bus worked fine. Just thought I would update this thread.

Hi,
I suggest uninstalling PCPE and reinstalling with the BR connected. That will resolve the issue of the old data.
As for the USB comm loss, that may be an issue with the UPS or the USB controller on the PC. When a self-test is run the UPS switches to battery to test the effectiveness against the load. If the battery drops below 100 percent PCPE will not be able to run another self-test until the battery returns to 100 percent charge.
