BG-500 (Back Ups Pro 500) - NIC resetting - Building Wiring Fault.
Problem: New BG-500 showed "Building Wiring Fault".
Troubleshooting: Tested outlet, tested SAT. Took BG-500 to another location, still showed BWF
Solution: Opened BG-500 (risk of shock, void wty, etc) and found slip on connector had slipped off. Pinched connector to make it tighter, reconnected, BWF disappeared.
Problem: New BG-500 NIC resetting after about 45 sec.
Troubleshootings: Opened BG-500 to view NIC card lights, connected CAT-5 directly to NIC (external port is a extension cable), reseated NIC. Google, google, google.... Found (via Google) that NIC has internal watchdog (not the one you set via the web page). Plugged BG-500 into older router that was not on my network, NIC reboot stopped. My network has Router & managed switch. I had disabled IPv6 in router, but not in managed switch.
Solution: Disabled IPv6 in managed switch, placed BG-500 back on my network, NIC rebooting stopped.
