BE350G no power on battery side, no LEDs

I have a BE350G that has worked great for the last year. This morning the LEDs are off, it is beeping once every ~4 seconds, the breaker was tripped. Only the surge protection side has power, there is no power on the battery side, LEDs are still off. The troubleshooting guide doesn't have anything that matches these conditions.

Hello John,

Have you experienced any storms or power fluctuations recently? Also, what is the serial number of this unit?

Thanks,

Thanks for the info.

There is two things that are going on here, first is the circuit breaker being tripped. This may be from too many things being plugged into the UPS. What all do you have plugged in?

The second is no power on the battery/surge side. To check this we can do what is called a cold start. To cold start we unplug the UPS from the wall and then attempt to power on a device from battery power alone. If the plugged in device does not turn on then we know the battery is going bad.

There definitely weren't too many things plugged in. I haven't changed what is plugged in since I purchased the APC a year ago: 1 iMac and 1 CenturyLink wireless router on the battery side and 1 Asus monitor on the surge protection side.

I just attempted the cold start, with only the Asus monitor and an iPhone plugged into the battery side. No LEDs come on at any time (plugged in or not). If I press the power button, I get a beep, followed by a very quiet chirp a few seconds later. If I hold down the power button, I get a long beep or multiple beeps, and sometimes the iphone will give the "I'm charging" sounds very briefly, but then does not charge.

Afterwards, I plugged the APC back in. Again, there are no LEDs (regardless of whether I press the power button) and the unit beeps every 4 seconds. If I press the power button the beeping stops, still no LEDs.

Hello John,

Based off of the clod start and your iphone not charging for more than a few seconds, it definitely sounds like you have a bad battery. I can see that you have already contacted technical support to receive a new one, hopefully it will resolve your issues.

Hi,

I received & installed the replacement battery; however, the  unit is behaving exactly as it did with the old battery. Regards, John
