Hi,
I recently purchased a new BE 550G and it is doing something every month or so. It beeps continuously and the light blinks green and red. I have to turn it off completely and turn it back on to make the fault go away. I have reduced the load by only connecting the modem and the computer to the battery outlets, with no change. While it is beeping my computer says it has a 100% charge, although the charge right after restarting the computer now says 95% (I just restarted the UPS). Twice this now has happened, with the computer in sleep mode, presumably with little load on the UPS.
Would you know what the cause for this condition is?
Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply - I erroneuously emailed instead of replying on the forum.
Battery is completely new - took the entire out of the box a few weeks ago.
Does this mean the unit should be returned? Any way to check the battery condition more precisely?
Thanks,
Bart

Hi Bart,
It sounds like your battery is going bad. It can be fully charged but report bad. Do you know how old your current batteries are. We typically say they last 3-5 years.
