I have a BACK-UPS BE700g-uk, which has been running fine for a year or so.
It recently started emitting a constant tone, which lasts for exactly 10 seconds. It does this every few hours. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the red LED is on at the same time (constant - not flashing) as the tone. I looked in the manual (http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/MMIS-8EYL8L/MMIS-8EYL8L_R0_EN.pdf), but this behaviour doesn't seem to be covered.
The time between tones was decreasing, so I thought it was probably the battery running out of juice or something, so I bought a replacement battery. However, after replacing the battery, I'm seeing exactly the same behaviour. The tones aren't occurring as frequently as they were before, but it's still happening every few hours.
Help would be greatly appreciated as I'd rather not have to buy a brand new UPS if possible. Apart from the tone, it all works fine.
Any ideas?

I have the exact same issue with my BE700G-FR: random (at least it seems so) constant tone and LED is flashing red which indicated either dead or disconnected battery.
But battery was changed (with a genuine APC battery, just like the previous) and problem still occurs.
When beeping, no loss of power (either as input or output) is noticed: my equipment continues to be powered just fine.
I have opened the unit, internal cables seems OK.
Possible workaround: Use "PowerChute" software to disable notifications (and use data port to get infos via computer).

It's possible the unit could be going into an overload state - that's typically what a constant tone with a solid LED means. What kind of equipment do you have connected to the BackUPS, particularly to the outlets labeled "Battery + Surge"? If you have a computer or other type of non-linear load, it's possible that your total load percentage is fluctuating around the maximum output the UPS is able to produce, which is causing the unit to go into overload at random intervals. The BE700G-UK has a maximum output of ~400w.

Thanks for the reply.
I caught it beeping this morning and checked the LED and the red LED is flashing (sorry for the misinformation before). The error code says battery disconnected or bad battery. But I've changed the battery and I'm getting exactly the same problem.
I'm pretty sure it's not being overloaded as there is a PC attached to it, but when it beeped this morning, the PC wasn't even turned on.
Is there anything else I can do at this point?
