Auto shutdown when in standby mode?

Hello, I was wondering if my battery back up will wake the computer to perform a system shutdown in the event of lost power, low voltage or any other condition which requires the battery to perform a shutdown. Sometimes I like to let my computer go to standby at night but worry about a storm or an outage that could cause problems. Anyone know if the battery would wake and shut down the computer or simply provide power until it is exhausted?

Hello,

If the PC is in standby mode, the UPS will not be able to communicate with PowerChute to initiate a graceful shutdown. Therefore, the UPS will run on battery until exhausted, and it will be a hard shutdown for the PC.
