Am I just unlucky or are others having problems with backup units?
I've been using APC backups for a very long time and when units have gotten old and stopped working I just bought a new unit of similar size and never had any issues until recently.
Back in August of 2022 I purchased a BN1350M2 unit for my PC and that unit has now been replaced twice and in July of 2023 I purchased 2, BE600M1 units and I'm now waiting on a replacement for one of those units. In the case of the BN1350M2's they just shut down and you have to unplug them and disconnect the batteries, press the power button for 5 seconds and then put everything back together before they will start working again until they fail again. The BE600M1 was being used to keep my TV and DirecTV receiver from taking forever to reboot if a momentary power failure occurred and Friday evening while watching a movie and it too just shut down and never was recoverable. So I'm a bit concerned that when you are relying on these units to function over a period of years why are they failing with such frequency. Am I just unlucky or are others seeing failures like I'm experiencing?
