Supply voltage for this unit should be 240VAC, is that ok connect 2 x 120VAC ? Or, can that be reason for our problems with almost all our UPS?

hi, sorry for the delay. it is possible that the unit required a braindead reset due to a previous fault. when it is up and running, can you gain access to the network management card installed to see if anything is reported in the event log? or is it dead again? 99v should be good to start the unit under normal circumstances.

yes, this is fine. the UPS only cares that it sees 240 across two legs. please note that the default setting is 208v input for this UPS. if you input 240v, which is fine, you just will need to change the setting via the included network management card or if you access the UPS directly with no network management card installed.
please note that the UPS does not output split phase though and the output will not be two equal legs of 120v. units that do that are something like this -> http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SURTD5000RMXLP3U
you should only be connecting 240 load to your UPS and not split the output.

Thank's.. Ok, however we have problems still, in one UPS I have led's on for internal fault ( is that possible that 208VAC default voltage level setting can make internal alarm, I'll fix it up to 240VAC soon), I have another same type UPS and that one I can't even start anymore, it running well first week but after one black out on site I was not able start it anymore, so even led's in front panel doesn't come on (too low battery voltage? if, how could it be, I assume that UPS should cut of the battery feeding before the voltage drop too down that we can not re- start it anymore?)
So at the moment my respect for APC ups are quite low but let's see, our third UPS model is SMART UPS 3000 XLM and for that UPS I have no possibility to take RS-232 connection...

no, incorrect voltage should not cause internal fault specifically. it could be related to an issue but it might be best to login to the network management card and view the active alarms to see whats going on. at that same time, you can set it to 240v.
on the second unit, it sounds like a battery voltage issue. its a logical bypass so i doubt it, but does the unit pass power if you move the bypass switch in the back? either way, the next step would be to measure the battery voltage on each brown battery voltage connector. you'll want to measure DC voltage and at a proper charge, you should see ~106vDC. anything below 88v is most likely toast and cannot be recharged. have you tried to cold start the unit? remove AC power (or open the input circuit breaker) and then with the batteries connected, hold down the 'test' button and see if you get any beeps. if you are in a good mood and want to risk it, you could maybe leave your other unit online and then swap batteries from that system to see if it would start, if possible. that would be what i try if the battery voltage is below the 88vDC.

Hi! Thank you again, very good tips for my problems..
First of all, I'll try to consentrate to unit where I have that "internal fault". When I logging in with hyperterm, I can see "battery charger fault" in upper corner of hyperterm window..??? So for me, that battery charger fault explain, why we have internal fault, but what could be reason for that?
About the input voltage setting from default 208V up to 240VAC, what could be the correct path where I can define it?
Next faulted unit, where problems might be too low battery voltage, good tips again, thank's. I'll consentrate to that unit tomorrow. I have not yet try that small "bypass" switch behind of unit, but I can do it first tomorrow. Next step will be to measure the battery voltages, at least it is good that you gave those reference values. For that unit I already try cold start in such kind way that we removed all battery connections and switch main supply of, I kept also OFF button pressed but for me it seems that on control board there is not any action anymore?? I also open the UPS housing, I make some measurement that 240VAC really came in and I saw that there is no any led's illuminate on "control board" So best explanation will be that just battery voltage are drop too down on some reason, agree? Aftern battery voltage level measurements it is also our intention to cross check by using batteries from other units..
In case battery voltage are dropped below 88VDC, any possibility to recharge them?
Thank's

just addition for my previous message, I check already the battery voltage level for UPS unit that we was not able to start, voltage was 99.10VDC but, when I connect batteris back, on some reason UPS was in condition again and I was able to start it, maybe the voltage was very close the limit before..??? However I don't understand why the voltage can drop so down during UPS feeding that UPS are not able to start anymore after "black out"..?

Hello!
I still have this problem here in Jungle... So my UPS is not able to stay running, even in normal mode when supply voltage is feeded for UPS. After it turn off, I measured the battery voltage from all batteries and it was arround 100VDC, sometimes it is possible to turn it on, sometimes not. When I am able to turn it on, I can measure the charging level up to 109VDC from batteries, and it's look also that for all batteries the level is same. There is no any warning indication on led screen, sometimes it just turn off...?
I assume, if batteries are too bad, there should be indication "replace batteries" or some similar messages, so now when any messages, I dont thinkt that batteries are reason, right? This batteries have been storaged couple years during transportation and could be possible that they are not good enough but as I say, I don't have any indication of bad batteries...
Could you please give me some instructions how to tracing the fault?
