APC J10/J15?

I am a user of APC products for my computers and am looking at the J10 or J15 for my audio/video set up. I contacted APC customer support and I was met with frustration. I called to inquire how much a battery replacement is for each unit. I was transferred 3 times and the last rep hung up on me. I live chatted the following day and that person could not give me any information. Could anyone give me with an battery replacement cost? Does anyone use the J line product and how has performance been?

J10/J10BLK - the replacement battery is APCRBC108
J15/J15BLK - the replacement battery is APCRBC107

these batteries are fairly new so i will have to research the exact price for you. i dont have the prices readily available but the batteries themselves should be released in the next couple months so pricing will be available shortly. since the units were still within 2 years of manufacture, the batteries werent released to sales since they were covered under the factory warranty.

i should be able to get a price for you within the next week or so. i hope that will be acceptable.

I want to thank you for your quick upfront honest reply. I would appreciate you letting me know the replacement battery prices. Now I understand why they did not know the price even after I gave the customer reps the same replacement numbers.
I have done more research and now am at odds as to which model to go with the J15 or S15. I have Rotel Equipment and I am aware that APC makes their RLC-1080
Audio/Video Power Conditioner with Battery Back Up that specs closer to the S15. I would appreciate your and others input on both units.

the S15 is a more higher end than the J15. the S15 outputs a pure sinewave versus the step approximated sinewave that the J types output. the S15 also has more tolerance for inrush current. the S15 also uses a vacuum florescent display viewable from all angles rather than the liquid crystal display on the J15 which is not viewable from every angle like the VFD. The S15 can provide 900 watts while the J15 can provide 865 watts. The S15 has a beefier charger and can charge the unit in about 8 hours while the J15 will take about 16 hours from a 0% capacity battery. The data line protection is also different between the two - the J15 only has RJ-11 (phone) protection while the S15 has RJ45 dataline protection (ethernet). The S types are meant to be mounted into a rack and come with rack mounting accessories while the J types are not meant to be. Lastly, the equipment protection policy value is up to $750,000 on the J15 while on the S15, it is unlimited.

hope this helps! personally, i'd recommend the S15 just because of the features and stuff but the J15 is a cost effective AV UPS solution.

I am awaiting the arrival of the S15. Thanks for all your info. With yours and other information I think that this was the best way to go.

Need batteries ? Go to BATTERIES PLUS . They have batteries for J10 and you'll save $$ .
