Hello, we just bought a APC Backup 525 ES. We noticed that many of the options in PowerChute Plus are greyed out. Is this because we're using a serial connection or because those options(like displaying battery life) are supported only by higher end models?

sorry to bother you, but last night i forgot to unplug the power cord between the computer and the UPS;
my "Back UPS CS 650 VA" was OFF, so have I fried the DDR2 modules?
(I removed them from the sockets). Everything seems to work just fine, now,
but I wonder was there any voltage on the MotherBoard with the UPS OFF, and the power cable still connected?
thancks in advance.

Hi Dee,
It could be that this particular UPS does not support most of the options the software provides. This unit is simple signalling, which will limit you to just basic monitoring and unattended shutdown.
