APC Back UPS ES 725

I have recently acquired this product from some other folks who were having issues with it. It beeps while plugged in on occasion. It isn't a lot, but it was enough to question whether it worked. I've been testing it out and though I haven't left it unplugged for 5 hours to see if it works I've tried it for about ten minutes and it did. So, my question is.. why is it beeping when plugged in and how do I fix this? I'd like to use this with my computer and want to make sure it is reliable.
