Hello,
I am using over 50 units of APC 650 VA UPS attached to client workstations.
When there no input power connection ,the voltage drops to 160-180 V , which should be normally 220-240 V as per the specification.
This situation is identical for 90 % of my units.
Please advise.
Thanks and regards
Chanaka

Hi there!
Have you tried to connect a load to the output and then measure.
It's perfectly normal for the UPS without load to measure such values.
Cheers,
Alexander

are you measuring the voltage with a voltmeter? if so, what type? keep in mind that on battery, these UPS units output a step approximated sinewave so if you don't use a true RMS voltmeter, you may see a lower value than expected. for instance, in north american where we have 120v, on battery, a non-RMS voltmeter reads the output as 88v. http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1493
we can confirm or deny this if you can provide the exact 650VA model off the white sticker on one of the units since we have a few different 650VA models. if what i mentioned above is not what's happening, we can check a few other things.

Hello , Thanks for the feedback.
We have used a normal voltmeter which i am not sure about the RMS capabilities.
The figure stays at 220-240 V RAW power connected and drops with battery power.
The precise UPS model no is BK 650 AS.
Please Advice.
Thanks
