Hello.
I have a new 21.5" iMac .
It seems that I can't find any UPS compatible with Apple's OS X operation system.
Can someone advise me what to do please ?
Thanks

Hello,
While we don't have any PowerChute software that supports Mac, you can still connect your UPS via USB cable to the UPS and Mac OS X can provide options to you within Energy Saver in System Preferences. You should find out how much wattage your Mac and any other devices you want to connect draw and then you can size a UPS appropriately. You'd probably want to look at something maybe like a BR700G or BR1000G or similar to start. I also don't know if you want an LCD on your UPS but I'd start here -> http://www.apc.com/products/category.cfm?id=13&subid=5

Yes, that should be fine as long as you checked the power requirements of your Mac and this UPS provides enough battery runtime. Another thing you might want to check with Apple or someone who knows Mac power requirements is if this Mac requires a pure sinvewave UPS. This UPS outputs a step approximated sine wave and some higher end computers don't work well with that.

I understand that a UPS is connected to the iMac in 2 ways :
If I can't find a compatible UPS to match paragraph 2 above ,
Can I connect the main AC cable AND Run a USB cable from the computer to the UPS and OS X Built in software monitor the UPS and set options in the Built In OS X software
to Auto shut down the computer or NOT ?.
Is it correct ?
Thanks

BR900GI comes with the appropriate data cable (RJ-45 to USB) for this as do most UPSs for working with Mac OS X. Once you connect the UPS with the included USB cable then UPS options will populate in Energy Saver within System Preferences.
