ups upgrade path

Hi,

I have few UPS devices and I was wondering if there is proper upgrade path for OS on UPS (not NMC) I can download latest one but if UPS was not patched for 6years does it require some proper path to follow as there is nothing in release notes. I have found that UPS upgrade can go ok on some UPS and we got two which crash after upgrade even that they were on the same OS level initially. There is nothing about that in the release notes.

these are major UPS on our site but after upgrading over 20 to OS15.0, 3 in row just died and I'm trying to get RMA for them and i'm afraid to patch the ones which are not under warranty anymore

1. Would you share the ticket # you have open with Schneider Electric support? I want to review the notes.
2. How did you perform the firmware update? Via the firmware wizard and a serial or USB cable over the network using the NMC? 
3. What do you mean by “just died?”

Upgrade of UPS was done by NMC2 or NMC3, I got different results on the one which failed(are dead no power out/in and cant be bring to working level):

Thanks for looking on that, like I mentioned we patched over 20 of them earlier and all wend OK until now 3 in row failed patching so we stopped (about another 30 left to do).

An issue when updating the UPS firmware remotely over wi-fi or VPN is the transfer may time out if using HTTPS.

FAQ000234317 contains options you can use to avoid the timeout issue. I talked with one of our engineers, and the recommendation is to transfer using HTTP or SCP.

NOTE: this issue may also happen with NMC2s that are running firmware 6.8 or above.

Thanks, but the issue is the UPSes are not giving power out after upgrade and the question was about upgrade path if there is any.

I have a few Smart-UPS SRT 3000 - SKUSRT3000RMXLI, with FW UPS 05.3 (ID1010) , i want confirm if i can update it directly to the firmware described on the APC site: SRT1010UPS_15-1.enc UPS 15.1, or i need to upgrade to a previous firmware first. Other thing is, this update can be done via NMC3?

I think you need to go over 8.x or 9.x but i coudn't find it anywhere, I found it in the docs somewhere.

The advice if device is not under support do not risk.
