I know this is a question for a very old ups.

I'm trying to reconfigure my AP9617 as i cant remember what ip address its configured too..

I've tried the reset switch and the ARP trick but I'm having no luck

my switch is detecting the ap9617 MAC address but i cant seem to communicate with it.   I'm assuming that because iI can see the MAC address that its not fried.

are there any other suggestions on how to do this?  i don't own a console cable as i cant find one for sale....

would there be a cable design plan so i can make one myself?

edit: i do have a usb cable that works i can install the agent and get the stats. but i cant find a way to configure the ap9617 through this

edit2: i have a solid green light that is supposed to mean the card has an ip address

edit 3: i have just bought a cheap "apc serial cable" online, we'll see if it works

Hi,

The cable is part number 940-0024 and the pinouts can be found at APCUPSD.org in the users manual. 

The instruction to configure the card are available in FAQ FA156064 and if needed the password reset instruction are available in FAQ FA156075

well the good news is the cable i ordered is the same part number....

Hi Bill...

It's taken a long time but the cable has arrived and i've been able to log into my UPS.

The IP was set to 10.xxx.x.x/16  with a gateway of 10.xxx.x.1    I guess I never logged into it in the first place because I would never have set the IP address to that.
