smart-ups 1500 product id and product key not available

I can't register a smart-ups 1500 from 2017, QR code is not available and I don't know how the get the product id and key. Thanks a lot

Hi Tom,

 

Just to be clear on your question about registering your UPS system. If this is for warranty purposes you can follow this APC Resource Link:

 

https://www.apc.com/ca/en/support/product-support/registration-warranty-services.jsp

 

If this is for the APC Smart Connect Portal (Cloud) Service. Only devices that have a letter (C) at the end of their serial number are Smart Connect enabled.

 

You can tell by the dedicated green coloured RJ45 Ethernet port on the back of the UPS system. If not present you can not use this cloud service.

There will also be a QR code that you can scan with your smart phone that is typically affixed to the top, side, front of the exterior of the frame.

The product ID and Key will be on a sticker attached to the UPS. If the UPS is a SMT or SMX model UPS you will also find the product ID and Key via the LCD panel. Go to About and scroll up or down until you see the info.

 

BTY: If the model of your UPS does not end with C the UPS is not a SmartConnect UPS. Examples: SMT1500C, SMC1500C, SMT1500RM2UC.

Thanks a lot for your answer, Crewman, and sorry for my later answer - I was traveling.

I have a SMT1500I with an installed NMC from 2017.

On the back site is only a sticker with the UPS type and the serial number. Also in the menu under Info (I'm using the German language version) you can find only the TeileNr. (UPS type: SMT1500I), SerienNr.: 3S1716X05566 and the Firmware version 15.0 / ID18 - I upgraded the firmware from the former version 9.x when I changed the battery two weeks ago.

So the question is: can I register this a little bit older UPS, it is running fine, no reason to change it.

Of course the next question is, if I really need to register it.
