setting and triggering forwarding of Syslog

Hi,

I'm having a ATS AP7723, and as my environment requirement i need to send it log to a syslog server, which i did the setting via SSH.  (by setting the server ip and port default port 514)

but at my syslog server I wasn't able to see any log being send over by the ATS.

I tested by configure the ATS to allow web access to get access to the function of the test of syslog. and my syslog server was able to get that test log.

but once i switch it back to SSH. and try to trigger some event by switching the power source no log was received.

I do like to ask what is the trigger for the log to be send to the server.

or is there a way to set the frequency of the logs being send ? or is the logs being sent real time?

can you provide your event.txt and config.ini file please? instructions to obtain these files via FTP (or even SCP if you're using SSH) are available in the knowledge base @ http://www.apc.com/site/support/index.cfm/faq/ and search for article ID FA156131

Hi Angela,

Thanks, it seem i had solve the problem, it was cause i was using the default user setting. the log appear after i set it to syslog setting.

I'm currently testing on how to configure the log so that i only get critical logs and user event log e.g. user login chances made by user.
