Hi there,
We have a UPS SRT3000RMXLI running firmware version UPS 05.3 (ID1010). It is installed with NMC AP9641 v1.3.3.1. We would like to update the UPS firmware.
By checking the https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA170679/
It seems that the firmware version is too old that doesn't support update via NMC.
Is it the only option to update it with wizard using the serial cable ? Here comes another challenge is the serial cable RJ-45 to DB9 requires a computer with 9-pin interface. We have no computer in our workspace comes with this 9-pin port.
Is there another cable available by APC with USB interface as a substitute of the serial cable? The USB end to plug into PC and RJ45 plug into the UPS. What is the part number and we could purchase it form local dealer.
Other than using the wizard, is there any other method to update the UPS firmware please?
Thanks in advance.

The solution is to get a USB to Serial conversion cable. I use one from Prolific, but many others are available that work correctly.

@BillP Thanks for your advice.
While I just called Schneider support hotline and they told me that there is another method upgrading the UPS firmware. First we are required to update the NMC firmware to the latest one (2.4.0.11 available on the APC web).After that we will be able to update the UPS firmware via NMC, no serial cable or USB cable required. I haven't tried it, have you heard about this method? It is not stated official on the APC web but the support engineer told me it should work.
