cooling system InRow RD shuts down many times in a day

Hello everyone.

The issue is I manage a cluster with a cooling system InRow and the cooling shuts down several times in a day, that causes the temperature to rise too in a few minutes. When the cooling goes off I have to turn it on and it works again. Do you have any idea what cause this ?

The cooling has these 3 warnings:

1 - cooling failure no longer exists.

2 - supply air high temperature violation.

3 - persistent low suction pressure.

I'm sorry about the questions, I'm new in this I hope you understand.

Thanks for your quick answers guys.

Hi everyone !

We contacted to an air conditioning company in our city and they made us maintain the external compressor (which was very dirty). This eliminated the suction alarms and values are already within a normal range, so the problem was solved.

Thank you were very helpfull

Hello Rick.

The low suction pressure alarm is what is causing this unit to shut down. Do you know what the pressures are (discharge and suction) and what the superheat is on the unit? These can be found under detailed status in the unit tab on the web interface or under view unit status from the front screen. Something is causing the unit to go into low suction which will turn off the cooling.

Thank you

Hi, thanks for answering.

today the cluster was turned off all day because this problem, I've seen the discharge pressure is 2380 Kpa and the suction pressure is 672 Kpa, these values with the cluster turned off and the cooling system working alone.

Could you tell me what is the range of normal suction and discharge pressure ?. I'll turn on the cluster again to see the new pressure values.

Thanks a lot for your answers.

Hello Rick. The suction pressure should be between 850-1000 Kpa and the discharge between 2350-2800 Kpa. You are reading low on the suction. This would need to be checked out by a HVAC tech to see if there are any leaks or blockages in the refrigerant system.

Thank you

There are twelve InRow ACRD502 in our data center.

The suction pressure is about 650 Kpa for all of them, even just after refrigerant charging. Is it normal?

We have no "low suction pressure" alarms, the discharge pressure is 1600-1700 Kpa.

Thanks.

Hello Andrej. The ACRD502 uses refrigerant 407C, which have lower pressures then the ACRD100, which uses refrigerant 410A. The ACRD502 will run suction pressures between 70-95 PSI (480-655 KPa) and discharge pressures between 220-280 PSI (1500-1900 KPa) depending on the load and the time of year. Your units are running correct pressures for the refrigerant they use. The 410A refrigerant runs higher pressures so 650 KPa would be low for those units.

Thank you
