Hey there,
we do have a SUA3000RMI2U that needs new batteries.
So far we've been very happy with the UPS. At this point however, I'm wondering if we should get a new device?
Do the new versions of this have any more features that might justify an upgrade?
We really only use the ethernetport to shut down the server and the NAS (both will also be upgraded in the next 12 months, however power requirements will be the same).
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
-Tobi

Hi Toby , the new versions of ups have LCD display and better power factor , this features are the most important that they have in difference, in the manual you can see the others features , but if your ups reaches you, have less than 10 years and works well you don't need to change it , just do a maintenance and change the batteries with their respective calibration.
regards.

Hi,
Another feature not mentioned by Chris is the newer Smart-UPS have switched outlet groups. This allows you to power down some equipment while leaving others running. See Smart-UPS SMT3000 and SMX3000 on APC.com http://www.apc.com/shop/de/de/search/

Thank you very much. Then we stick with the old one.
One last question, I removed the old battery disposed it and ordered a new one.
Unfortunately the UPS fell on the floor. I tried to turn it on, but no reaction. Is that because it currently has no battery, or did it actually get damaged?
