Unexpected behavior of Symmetra after power module failure
Hi all,
We have a Symmetra PX with 3 power modules that's running at 39% output power. It reported a power module failure that we ultimately cleared by removing and reinstalling the power module in question. However, during the 85 minutes that the power module was in a failed state the Symmetra was reported it was on battery power. In looking at the logs, it was drawing 2-3 amps from the batteries during those 85 minutes. It concerns me that it switched to battery since the power modules are in parallel, and having 3 installed gives us N+1 redundancy. I also found it odd that the Symmetra only seemed to be drawing a partial load from the batteries. Although everything is back to normal now, it made me wonder what would've happened had we not addressed the power module failure before the batteries were drained. The whole event is concerning because it brings into question the designed redundancy that we've been relying on.
