UPS message below a certain power threshold

This was originally posted on APC forums on 3/7/2016

Hello all,l

Our supply voltage (from the wall) is somewhat unreliable such that the UPS consistently switches to battery power for short periods of time. Consequently, we've disabled the "On battery power in response to an input power problem" message,(0x0109) since it occurs quite frequently. However, during a real power-outage, the next level of logging information that we receive is that the UPS is shutting down because the battery charge is too low to support the input load (0x0107). Is there an alert that will send a message based on a configurable battery voltage level? It would be convenient to only receive "on battery power" messages is the battery life is below, let's say 80%, such that we don't constantly get spammed with small fluxes in power.

Thanks!

Hey Joshua,

One thing that comes to mind as a quick fix would be to enable notification delays for that specific event "on battery in response to an input power problem". I know it's not tied to certain percentage which is what you asked, but if you waited a few minutes, that could allow for small power disturbances to clear (and therefore, no more spamming of emails). You could set the time delay based on your estimated runtime and load to your liking.

Let me know if that option doesn't work for you, but I think this option would be the easiest.
