UPS Smart APC 300 graceful Shutdown

Hi all i am looking for some help with this issue, i would like to be able to allow the APC unit to gracefull shut down our Server if the battery is running low on the APC unit during a power outage.

We have a AP9631 Network Magament Card installed on our APC Unit will be allow us to issues shut downs ?

we have 3 server one is a ESXi Host.

Yes, the AP9631 card can communicate with PowerChute Network Shutdown software installed on your servers to gracefully shutdown.  This software is free to download on APC.com and we do have special versions compatible with virtualized environments.  There are plenty of white paper and knowledge base resources to help you understand the product and how to configure it on APC.com.

Thanks for the reply, I was looking for some documents on the installation on a ESX Host but cant find anything.

could you also tell me will this be done over the LAN or do i need extra equipment to support up to 3 Servers ?

PowerChute Network Shutdown and the Network Management Card communicate on the LAN.
