UPS: APC and CyberPower, etc, safety & quality considerations?
I am looking for a simple but safe and reliable UPS for home office use. I've looked at the APC Back-UPS variants (BE850G2) and CyberPower PFC Sinewave (CP1500EPFCLCD).
I am potentially interested in getting a model with a "sine wave" function for my computer, router, NAS devices, and audio equipment including speakers and analog synths. In Europe it only seems like the aforementioned CyberPower is virtually the only option on the retail market that has at least 6x Schuko sockets. (It's possible that I have missed something).
However, when reading reviews on Amazon of the CyberPower PFC Sinewave, I must admit I become a little scared – a non-insignificant amount of the reviews mention causing small fires, toxic smells, sparks, etc.
On the other hand, I can imagine that some people feel that APC products aren't reliable, and I also cannot find that they offer a Schuko product with Sine wave functionality.
What are your experiences and recommendations regarding manufacturers overall (especially for sine wave functionality if pertinent). Are there other manufacturers than APC and CyberPower that are advisable?
