This is a Symmetra LX 8000 RM with latest NMC firmware (7.1.2).
Whenever self-test is run, whether manual or scheduled, the self-test starts, passes successfully about 30 seconds later, then immediately begins a second self test. The second self-test never completes.
This UPS is managed by DCE, which detects a 'Warning' state until the self-test completes (which it does not) and also sends an email every hour that a test is in progress. The only way to clear this state is to reboot the NMC and everything is fine until the next scheduled self-test.
Is there any reason why a second self-test would be triggered immediately after successfully passing a self-test?

Have you disabled the self test on either side to see if there is a difference in behaviour?!? 🤔
More specifically, as an example disable the scheduled self test from the UPS. Let DCE manage and initiate the self test and see what happens.
You could do the reverse and let the UPS initiate the Self Test and disable the DCE scheduled event.
I know this was posted long ago but wanted to offer my thoughts on a possible solution.
Let me know the results . . . 👍
