We have Smart-UPS X 1500 with one battery. Battery has been replaced a year ago due to fault
Recently we had a power cut and the UPS switched off the power to outlet groups instead of switching to battery power, please see below:
Also there is no event that there was lost power of the ups is compensating because of the interrupted power.
The UPS is 8 years old, is it starting to fail? What can be the reason for that behavior. Self test passes.

Appreciate you uploading the logs and don’t see any out of band values. Some follow up questions for you as to how it’s setup, loads, and connections.
- What loads are attached and their power draw? Disconnect all loads and remove power from the wall. How does the system react?
- Is APC Power Chute installed and connected to a computer system if so disconnect it. Remove AC Mains from the wall how does the system react and behave?
- Manually initiate a Self Test what are the results? Once the system indicates the battery is fully charged manually initiate a battery calibration with at least 30% attached load.
What are the results of the battery calibration?

I also have the same problem with Backup Pro BR1500MS. As soon as the power stops the UPS dies. Two year old battery pack, bought two new batteries with the same result, instantly dies.

I've done the Self test - Passed
I've done the Runtime Calibration - Passed.
I've then tested the ups turning off the power and it hold the battery power without cutting of the output groups 🙂 Great!!
Looks like we should have done the calibration after battery replacement? Didn't thought about that...
Thank you for your help 🙂

Yes, generally speaking when a battery is replaced the installation date needs to be entered if available.
This is followed by initiating a Self Test. Than a battery calibration as doing all the above will reset internal counters and adjust the charging tables.
Please do mark the reply that I provided that helped solve this issue for you. As doing so will help the next person asking the same.
Cheers! 👍
