Hi All, I wonder if I could get some help!
I have a SRT8000, which was already in place when I joined my current organisation. I am by no means a UPS expert!!
Recently the UPS had alarms advising that the bettery was end of life, so I replaced them all. But I cannot clear the alarms or update the battery installation date.
The batteries were just removed and replaced in a hot swap style. No bypass mode was entered.
Would anyone be able to advise what I need to do to clear these alarms and have the thing running correctly?
Many thanks,
Chris.

There are several options depending upon the state of the unit as it relates to updating the battery installation date.
It can be done via the LCD Menu, NMC, PCSS application.
Clear any active faults via the front panel
LCD Menu. Next disconnect the RBC and wait for the system to declare an active battery fault (missing / disconnected).
Wait 30 seconds than reconnect the RBC cable. The system should prompt you to confirm this is a new RBC.
Toggle from No to Yes and enter the month and year than save / enter. You must insure the system date and time are correct before this step is taken!
Ensure DST IS defined if applicable and the system can reach a valid NTP source. Once the battery installation date has been set manually initiate a Self Test and let pass.
Allow the RBC to recover and display 100% SOC. Complete the process by manually initiating a battery calibration with at least 30% attached load and let complete.
Once completed the displayed operational runtime will be more accurately displayed on the LCD Menu, NMC, PCSS.
NOTE: In specific cases a brain dead may need to be done to allow you to complete the three steps. As such you should consider doing so before the primary steps to save time and frustration.

Thank you Teken for your detailed reply. The UPS is currently in use. Will pulling all the battery modules (8 in total) result in power loss to the attached hardware? Or will the unit automatically enter into a bypass state?

The SRT is hot swappable as such the system will continue to power the connected loads.
Insure the system date & time is correct before you proceed. Let me know if you have more questions and how everything turns out once done.

After the installation of the batteries. Try to remove all the battery connector but the UPS must be in online mode. Once all has been disconnected, Connect the battery by string, and it will detect the battery appearing that new battery installed, then change the battery installation date. Do it until all the battery string will be connected and update the installation date.
If problem still exist then do the battery self test to trigger all the batteries and it will be detected by the UPS.
Try also check the battery sensor that linking into the UPS and the battery, sometimes it is just not connected properly that is why it is not sensing by the UPS it self.
If still problem exist, connect to the UPS management card and do the changing of battery installation date.
That 3 ways will solve your issue.

If still problem exist, connect to the UPS management card and do the changing of battery installation date. then do the battery self test, do not do the battery self test several times, it will drain the batteries

Thank you for all the comments so far. Somehow, I have managed to update the battery install date. I am not sure how this happened - I tried it many times, and after every time, it still showed an error. However, after checking the device the following day, the updated battery install date was showing as July 2025. The LCD panel has stopped being orange, and has gone back to blue.
However, I still have the error in the web interface that battery pack 1 is not installed. How do I identify which is battery pack 1? I have attached an image of the unit.
As a side note, I have been orking with apc support to update the network card firmware, which I have also just completed this morning.
With regards to removing all the batteries, and reconnecting one at a time, is that the next step? I am unsure how to put it into bypass mode. I cannot see an uption for this. Teken, you saod this will just happen automatically. But I am nervous to pull all the batteries.
Also, I only have approx 11% load on the unit. I do not have enough hardware to put the device under 30% + load.
Many thanks in advance for your comments.

Hi All, since my last post I have managed to update the battery installation date. I am not sure how, as every time I did this (and I did it many times) it failed to update. But when I came into the office the next day, the dates had stayed updated!
I have also updated the network card to the latest firmware.
But I still have the error message saying battery pack 1 is disconnected.
Can anyone advise which is battery pack 1, from the image attached?
Also, I am very wary to pull all the batteries. Will it automatically go into bypass mode?

You may log into the NMC and go to the battery tab. Disconnect one RBC starting from top left and refresh the NMC page.
This will tell you if you have found the correct RBC.
The system is hot swappable as such nothing to worry about by disconnecting the RBC. The only caveat is (IF) the system is faulty as such the unit would obviously drop the connected load and turn off.
Battery Calibration: You may simply connect any extra resistive load such as a heater, dryer, incandescent lamp(s), fan.
To achieve the minimum 30% attached load.
NOTE: This system uses pairs of RBCโs. As such you must disconnect each pair together. The LCD Menu / NMC should indicate each pair as disconnected / missing.
