Hello everyone,
We have several locations Smart-UPS SRT installed. However, we have always had these messages at the main location for a long time.
UPS: Bypass not in range ; either frequency or voltage.
A few seconds later:
UPS: An input voltage or frequency problem no longer prevents switching to bypass mode.
Where can I find out in which log where I see frequency or voltage problem?
We have already customised a lot. See Screenshot1.png.
However, any adjustment does not help.
You may have the best setting.
I have also added the data log (Last 8 hours). See Datalog.txt.
For your information, we have already installed the 4th APC in total on this location, as we received the information from support serverl times,
- disconnect the load from the UPS (the server/PCs may have to be shut down first)
- Switch off the UPS - On/Off button
- Disconnect the battery
- Disconnect all cable connections from the UPS (power cable, communication cable, load)
- press the button to switch on again for 5 seconds.
You may hear a beep, a switching sound or nothing at all.
- Please reconnect the UPS and connect it to the load as at the beginning
- Switch on the UPS

Please let us know if this procedure has brought any improvement. If not :
In order to arrange a replacement under warranty, I need the following information from you:
....
We followed the steps but nothing helped.
Many thanks in advance

Based on the information you have provided I’m not quite sure what the problem is? 🤔
The Data Log shows both frequency and voltage captured by the system. The frequency at your location has been rock solid. The voltage had some variations but nothing too significant to even mention.
The bypass values you selected could be adjusted better to reduce the amount of time the system transferred over though. But that is up to your site’s requirements and the quality of power seen at that location.
As it relates to completing the Brain Dead procedure it’s normally as follows:
Shut down and disconnect all loads. Remove AC Mains, Disconnect Battery, Press and hold the power button.
You may hear a click & beep once this procedure is completed. You may not hear anything at all.
Reconnect everything and power up the system. 👍

I did this, but there was no improvement.
It would simply be important for me to find the place in the logs where this is documented.
Because I can't imagine that this message is created without a log.
Thanks for your answer.

The active faults / errors can be seen using the LCD for logs. The NMC upon first login shows the past / current transfer(s) in (human readable form) under Recent Device Events which are the logs you’re asking about.
Logs -> Events -> Logs: This captures the same information as the Recent Device Events, in longer duration based on the log size you have defined and interval.
Logs -> Data -> Logs: This captures and displays all of the numeric values seen by the system. It spans line voltage, frequency, battery voltage, current, temperature, humidity, etc. Generally speaking it’s this information that a person will review that relates to the human readable active faults / transfer errors.
This is the same information you have provided here. Based on the small data sample all appear to be fine.
It goes without saying you can see transfer errors when the system has been programmed to use a very tight power regulation.
It’s up to you to confirm if the power quality is excellent, good, or bad. Once known your site will determine what is acceptable and how the UPS will be programmed to offer the cleanest power to, OK power.
As suggested earlier you can adjust the upper / lower transfer voltage to see how the system reacts.
It should be noted even though the system does not always display and capture all line conditions in its data logs.
Because it’s not real time but restricted by the defined interval of the NMC system.
The UPS does indeed monitor and reacts in real time to line conditions.

Personally since you have looked at the logs and checked inuput voltages at the outlet. I am thinking on one of these is the issue
All of these will cause UPSs to throw all kinds of various alerts. Including over draws on the UPS, inverter issue alerts, and bypass alerts

Let me add in one more thing to consider just to be thorough. 🤣 In the OPS image capture it shows 230 VAC.
Im going to assume this is correct?!? 🤔
If not, and your input line voltage is 240 this would cause an issue! ☝️ Please confirm your region and line voltage for us.
Because just this simple mistake impacts what the upper / lower transfer voltage are available to use.
NOTE: The UPS must be turned off to make the input voltage change. So plan and schedule accordingly to make that happen.
