Smart-UPS 2200xl

I have an older (actually a couple of these units) Smart-UPS 2200xl. They are connected to a couple of battery expansion units. One of my units is showing replace battery indicator. A glance at each of the batteries reveals at least one showing a separation.

Can I disconnect this battery and pull it without bringing down the system?

The unit supports hot swapping so you don’t need to worry about disconnecting any loads or powering down the main unit.

Simply unplug the bad pack and replace the same. Keep in mind the batteries need to replaced as a set if they were installed at the same time. ☝️

If one pack failed the other is not too far away from the same. Insure you date the installation and mark down the entire battery system was replaced.

The average service life is 3-5 years based on usage, temperature, and environmental factors.
