SUA1500RMI2U Smart UPS software questions

Hello. recently we bought a SUA1500RMI2U Smart UPS with AP9631 network management card. I went to the website to download software for it. But I couldn't find it in the dropdown list in support - downloads. So I went with SUA750RM1U. Is it the same piece of software? Also, where do i get a licence key for this version? Do I need to buy it separately or is it included with my UPS?

Hi Igor,

There were updates applied on the website that has changed its look remarkably. The website upgrade is still a work in progress at this point.

As for your query, if you are looking for the software to gracefully shutdown the server/computer, this is the PowerChute Network Shutdown software. For ease of access, you can use the link below to download the software based on their respective operating system.

You'll find the latest firmware for an AP9631 in a Smart-UPS here -> http://www.apc.com/us/en/tools/download/ 

Choose the drop down list next to filter by software/firmware and choose Firmware Upgrades - UPS Network Management Cards. Refer to part number SFSUMX640.

The Smart-UPS model itself is not firmware upgradeable, only the AP9631 or the PowerChute software.

Yes it is. PowerChute works perfectly.

Thank you for your update. The PowerChute Network Shutdown is usually included with the network management card. To ensure that you are using the latest version of it, I would encourage you to download the software from the link that I have provided you.

And just in case the NMC firmware is outdated, I also suggest to have the firmware upgraded as well, from downloading the SFSUMX640 from the link that Angela provided you.

Yeah I figured, but I can't do it yet, I don't know login-password combination. I found a good how-to reset a password guide but I'm stuck on telnet to the device part

Configuration Option 3 - ARP (Address Resolution Protocol)

I used wireshark to determine current ip address but when i telnet  ip it says cannot connect. I can ping this address normally though. Do you have any insight except terminal cable? I will need to ebay it =(

Hi Igor,

The default username and password for the network management card is apc/apc (all lower case). If this does not work, I suggest you to perform a password reset procedure that is outlined properly from the article on the link below:

The procedure requires the use of the supplied DB9 to Ring Sleeve (TRS) cable that is included with the network management card.
