SUA1500I : Changed battery, but runtime hasn't improved

Changed battery yesterday and let it charge overnight. Ran a calibration afterwards, but the runtime is still 7 mins with 7% load (should be around 2hrs i think).

Also my log looks like this now:

Is the UPS broke?

Actually, when running a calibration, you need at least a 30% load (fluctuating no more than +/- 5%) for an accurate result. Anything less than that and the UPS can't properly determine it's actual available runtime. Since you have 7% load on one unit and 25% load on the other, that's likely part of the issue. Try connecting some more equipment and run another calibration.

And now I've found out, I have the same problem with my SU3000 RMINET. Load is 25 %, so according to specifications, the runtime should be ~1 hr. PowerChute reports 24 mins after a calibration. The same as it was before i changed the batteries.

Would it be wise to initiate a new calibration?

Hi,

From my past experience the UPS's own internal calibration went nuts due to prolonged bad batteries. Upon replacing your batteries, disconnect any load on the UPS and do a full calibration again, it will take very very long normally to do so and thereafter it will correct the bad calibration data! Hope it helps! 🙂

Cheers,
Pavit
