I have an old SU2200RM3U that was taken offline because the case got very hot. Most of the batteries were badly swollen and one of them even broke open. Before buying a new battery pack, does anyone know if that UPS requires batteries to start up? I tried it without any batteries and get absolutely nothing. It's getting AC power to the motherboard, the 4 fuses that I could find test okay, and none of the components are obviously scorched.
I do have a good voltmeter and quite a bit of electronics repair experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After getting new batteries for two SU5000s in our Houston office I tried out the used battery packs in the SU2200. Some of the old batteries were fried but I found enough good ones to make up a working set. Lo and behold, it fired right up.
I guess This answers my question - you do need batteries for it to boot. Thanks for the input everyone!
