SMT 2200 - Connect Battery
I have joined an organization which has a series of SMT2200s which I have found unplugged at various locations. It is unknown how long they have been sitting there or their current state. On one unit, I have purchased new batteries, installed them, plugged the unit up and turned the unit on. Received a Connect Battery message on the front display with a red light and audible beep. Cannot run the test/diag with this message on startup. When the unit is plugged in, I do hear an audible noise inside the unit, probably from the charger.
What is the procedure to determine whether the unit itself is bad? Is there a troubleshooting guide available? These are brand new batteries, so I find it difficult to blame them at this point. Please advise so I can determine what direction to go with the remaining units.
