I have a question regarding this piece of equipment. It is a 10/100 NIC card and i want to migrate them to a nexus 2148 but the nexus interfaces are gig only. SO I was wondering if there was a solution that i can upgrade the nic on the PDU to 1000. Please let me know.
Thanks for your help
Richard

Yes, I couldn't think of the word - transceiver! We have had customers using those. Not the specific one you shared but something similar. I am not 100% sure exactly how they work but I think you're on the right track with looking into something like that to get 100mbps.

Hi Richard,
There isn't anything we can do on the PDU side but in my experience with similar questions, I've found that most of the time there is a module you can add to your switch to support 100mbps some way. Sometimes the switches also do allow you to set ports to 100mbps if the default is 1000mbps and/or they will just negotiate down to 100mbps. I am not sure if you have researched either of these options yet for the particular Cisco Nexus switch you noted.
But, what I can say for certain is that we don't have 1000mbps support on these devices and also no way to upgrade the hardware or firmware in any way unfortunately.

So the fex there is a command show int ethX/X/X capabilities and on the output it says its speed 1000 duplex full. there is no capability to be able to set the port to 100. This particular switch does not let you set the speed to 100. the error you get is configuration does not match the port capability. it is a nexus 2148. i will look into the module as a solution.
is that the module you are referring to ?
