Rack-Mount PDU - PDM and Harwire Input

I'm having some trouble with my clients, many need to install RM PDUs in a hardwire configuration. Local APC service department told me that if we cut the PDU's power whip warranty would be lost.

The same problems occurs when using the new PDM (Power distribution Modules). They came all with fixed whip length, meaning that at some point you will have a blocking mass of IEC 309 32A piled up connectors that won't fit in any canalization (APC desingners shoud have thought about that). Even more complicated if your clients expects a Afumex power wiring.

Questions:

A) If I take apart any AP7XXX Series PDU is there any hardwire connection capability?
B) If I take apart any PDMXXXXIEC-3P Series PDM is there any hardwire connection capability?

A) If I take apart any AP7XXX Series PDU is there any hardwire connection capability? <-------------- Yes
B) If I take apart any PDMXXXXIEC-3P Series PDM is there any hardwire connection capability? <----------------- Yes

But as you've already been told this will void your warranty on each item you disassemble. But as you can imagine thats standard for anything in this world. If you disassemble something and modify it then you can't expect the OEM to back the original warranty.

You can't say the connectors won't fit in a a canal type power trough. I just completed an installation with 2 PDPM's that supplies 44kw per rack in a 12 rack configuration and using APC power troughs all the whips and plugs rest inside the APC supplied trough. That is 48 PDPM breaker cordset modules in a 12 rack space.

Thanks both of you.

Yes I can say connectors won't fit. There's not always a lot of space to work with, and for 220V 32A APC dispatches only one PDM partnumber with fixed length covering the difference with extra extenders, even more, ISX Designer configures always the same PDM with lots of extenders. This particular situations regarding: PN PDM1332IEC-3P Makes it very difficult to route power cabling. For other solutions you have many different PDM partnumbers with a wide variety of whip lenghts, if you need 3x32Ax220V and have no extra space you are lost.
