Problems with inRoom Direct Expansion unit

Hello Everyone,

I received the management of the datacenter of the company, we have a pair of APC InRoom Direct Expansion cooling devices, first of all as weird as it may sound, I dont know their exact model or capacity, is not in a tag, the control panel or the web interface, I just have the serial number, it looks a lot like those under Uniflair Direct Expansion link below, but this one is black with apc logo on it, on the page the seem to be white now:

http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=461

The main problem is that they are set for 71o F (22o C) but when outside is cool the temperature becomes very low (ie. today about 57F/14C) it supposedly has a electrical reheat option but never turns on.

Also the humidity setpoint is 40% but the humidifier is on and humidity at 70%

I tryed changing the values on the webconsole (unit -> settings) to higher temperature and lower humidity with no results. Turning off and on the device seems to make it work for a while.

Those units are about 2-3yrs old and they have maintenance with the APC reseller that sold them to us, but he doesnt seem to know much more about the device.

Any ideas? THANKS!!!

Hello Alejandro,

I am sorry you are having this issue with your APC cooling unit. The issue that you are  having can be cause by a different variety of situations. In order to get you the most accurate solution I would ask that you call our tech support team at  1-800-80-4272 option  for tech support and then option 5 for cooling tech support. We would suggest that you have your serial # and access to the unit  to make it possible for us to obtain and make changes to settings if needed, having the serial# would allow us to verify  warranty coverage as well as document any issues with the unit.

Hope to hear from you soon
