PowerChute Network Shutdown Events
We have a Cicso Hyperflex cluster running vMware hooked up to a Delta UPS, sadly the Delta shutdown agent is not very good, so we are thinking of installing a small APC UPS wired to a generator but not UPS protected outlet. Sadly I don't have access to a UPS to test so I am hoping somebody can tell me if the idea works or not.
The APC UPS would then trigger the PowerChute Network Shutdown when it looses power. We would set the PowerChute Network Shutdown to have a delay of 10 min, meaning if power is out for 10 min we start the shutdown. The question is if power is restored prior to the 10 min what happens?
Ideally the shutdown is cancelled as the APC UPS would send a power restored event, is this indeed the case or does the script continue once it's been triggered?
