Perimeter Cooling Design
I'm in process of design a new data center that will be approx 2500 ft sq. with approx. 75 server racks. My heat densities will vary between 3kW/rack up to 10kW/rack with a total heat load of up to 400kW. I am looking at traditional precision ac units strategically placed around the perimeter of the room but I am concerned that with over 100 tons of cooling that I wont be able to properly distribute the air as required to the various rack density areas. Does APC have any recommendations of how to properly cool a room like this? As well, my load will be significantly less than 400kW on day one and might not reach that level until upwards of 18 months. I would like to avoid oversizing now and have a solution that would allow me to expand my cooling (and power) only when needed.
