OID clarification for controlling outlets via SNMP on guest/linked rPDU's?

I am looking to clarify my understanding of the OID(s) used for controlling outlets on linked/guest rPDUs.

We all know the base OID for controlling a single rPDU:

rPDUOutletControlIndex	1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.12.3.3.1.1.1
rPDUOutletControlOutletName	1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.12.3.3.1.1.2
rPDUOutletControlOutletPhase	1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.12.3.3.1.1.3

I have found what I think is the correct OID path for controlling outlets in rPDU2 at: enterprises.318.1.1.26.9.2.4 however I wasn't able to find anything concrete to shore up my assumption:

When I walk that it appears to be what I want but before I made assumptions I wanted to ask.

Hi Brian,

Any OID that begins with rPDU is intended to be used with our older style PDUs with model numbers in the AP7XXX range - AP79XX specifically for switched outlet models.

Any OID that begins with rPDU2 is intended to be used with or 2G or 2nd generation PDUs that have model numbers beginning with AP8XXX. The switched models are AP89XX and AP86XX.

If you are using the AP8XXX series and are using the Network Port Sharing feature - which means you'd have host and guest PDUs, then I suggest to read here and refer to the SNMP section to understand how SNMP changes when you have more than one PDU at a single IP address -> http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqsFA164436 

Essentially, you'll need to pay attention to the index numbers for each rPDU2 OID and know which PDU is at which SNMP index, especially if you have more than two PDUs where it can be a little complex. And it gets even more complex if you have a mix and match of PDUs that are switched and those that are metered because certain OIDs are only intended for Switched PDUs.

Thanks, I've gone through and ensured outlet# => index => index device owner.

To simplify (please correct me if I'm wrong), to reboot outlet 24 on a PDU-B in a shared gen2 PDU implementation via SNMP I'd send "3" to:

enterprises.318.1.1.26.9.2.4.1.5.48

...where 48 is the index assigned to port 24 on PDU-B.

Hi Brian,

That looks right. I'd then guess you probably have two, switched 24 outlet PDUs so instance 48 on that OID would indeed be outlet #24 on your second PDU.
