Hi there,
we are an experienced APC reseller and I have a brand new SmartUPS RT 6 kVA (SRT6KXLI), EMEA-version in the preparation room.
The UPS is working fine, no error messages.
Connected the network cable, DHCP active. After few moments the display shows the IP-adress and I browsed to it.
It opens with "apc" and "apc", next step was give new username and password.
This worked fine and I had access to the network card and it communicates with the UPS.
All data could be seen, everything fine and I logged out.
Trying to log in again ends with error message "Invalid username or password. Please try again"
It doesn't help and I resetted the embedded NMC3.
New access with apc was possible, gave new password and GUI opens.
Logged out, logged in, "Invalid ..."
Resetted the NMC3, changed password, had access, logged out and can't log in again.
How to resolve from that?

Reset the NMC 3 again and login using apc. Go to Configuration -> Security -> Local Users -> General User Management -> Add User.
Create an Administrator account with the criteria needed. Log out and log in with the new Administrator account.
What happens?!?
My expectations are you’re able to login / log out using this new Administrator account. If so go back to the Local User tab and change the APC password through there instead of doing via the first time login.
Once the APC password has been changed log out and login with the APC account and report back the results.
NOTE: All changes and viewing should be done using Chrome / Fire Fox. Not Microsoft Edge Web Browser!
Also validate TLS 1.2 is the default in the NMC.
