Move a Smart Connect license to a replacement UPS
We just received the key for our recent purchase of 50+ 5-year advanced SmartConnect subscriptions. When adding the key there is the message that says once the subscription is assigned to a UPS it cannot be moved. Many of our UPS's are older and will not be in service for 5 years, will we be able to move a subscription from a UPS that we remove and assign the subscription to a replacement UPS?

At a high level you have a couple options and considerations to take into account. You can just sit on the license you have and than apply them to the new hardware once in place.
It makes very little sense to apply a license to something that will be refreshed in a few years?!? 🤦‍♂️
The current APC Policy is the license can be transferred to a unit that was (replaced) under warranty.
Not because you decided to replace the hardware due to a failure / refresh. You should reach out to your reseller for guidance or APC directly to obtain a written response as to how this will be handled.
