Logging in as a local user when experiencing RADIUS connectivity issues.
I have a handful of APC devices that we have RADIUS setup on. We have configured on them to use RADIUS first. On a few I am not able to login with my radius account on the login page. How do I make it accept the local account and not the radius? Is there some characters I need to enter before the local username?
I'm assuming your RADIUS configuration is set to "RADIUS, then Local Authentication". In this case, the card will default to RADIUS, but only if the RADIUS server is completely inaccessible by the NMC will it allow using a local account. If RADIUS is enabled, this is the only way to use a local account, there are no backdoor commands to allow a non-RADIUS user to login remotely. If "RADIUS Only" is selected, then the NMC won't revert to local even if the RADIUS server is down.
The only caveat to this is if the option for "Serial Remote Authentication Override" is enabled for a certain user, then you would be able to use that local account to login locally over serial (USB or DB9 depending on the model NMC you have).
