I want to be able to reboot the Symmetra while having the unit in manual maintenance bypass. The idea is to be able to reboot he UPS but not interrupt power to the connected devices while doing so.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks,E

Yes, while in manual bypass (breaker switch to right of front display pushed to the right), you may cycle the system enable switch on the rear of the UPS without interrupting your load. Once the UPS is rebooted and the display has come back to the way it was, you can flip the same bypass breaker to the LEFT/off position and the UPS will transition on-line without load interruption.
Just curious, but how do you "know" the UPS is not being overloaded on one of its two phases?
On the Symmetra LX, each hot wire output is measured discretely. If your load is comprised of primarily 120v loads, it's possible to load up one of these two hot wires to 100% of their capacity (50% of the total system capacity). The UPS will report the higher of the two phases unless you dig into the detailed Status it provides.
It might be a good idea to find out what your load balance situation is on this split-phase UPS. You can go to the UPS display Status menu and on the fourth page (hit the down arrow 3 times), you will see "% Load Assuming No Redundancy" and two percentage readings on the bottom line. Ideally, these would be close together, so that you may utilize the total capacity of the UPS and not prematurely overload one half of the system.
Let us know what you have there (or get the same data from the Network Management Card). It would be good to know what kinds of equipment you are powering, as well as the number of power modules installed in the UPS. Perhaps you could also provide a sample of the network card's event and data logs for analysis, as well as the Master firmware revision on your Intelligence Modules.

unfortunately, i cannot thing of a way to reboot the symmetra LX without disruption to the load without going to manual bypass. any other way will disrupt power to the load.
just to be clear, why do you need to do this? i just want to make sure because if you need to reboot the network interface or possibly one of the other modules or powerview menu, you can do this without rebooting the entire UPS.

I am getting some erroneous load threshold alerts (Critical - UPS: The load exceeds 100% of rated capacity.) when I know the UPS load is not exceeding more than 50%.
We have just recently installed 3 more power modules and I wanted to reboot the Symmetra WITHOUT interrupting power to the devices already connected to it.
So to be more clear, I want to reboot the UPS, I am OK with putting it into manual bypass while doing so, provided that while the UPS is in manual bypass it will continue to provide power to the devices while the UPS reboots.
