Help with PowerChute Plus & Netware 3.12

Yes, we still have a Netware 3.12 server. When originally purchased along with an APC Smart-UPS, PowerChute Plus v. 4.1.2 was installed. Many changes occurred over the years and I'd now like to re-establish control between my newer APC Smart-UPS SU2200 and the Netware server. All the software had already been installed on the server but I reinstalled it from the original software disk using a DOS computer.

The SERVER module APCSMUPS.NLM loads and functions as expected. The screen states that communications are established and I even simulated a power failure and the subsequent events were displayed as expected. I'm using the original serial cable #940-0024B connected to COM1.

My problem is with the WORKSTATION module. When I run the PWRCHUTE.EXE program from the DOS computer I used during the install, I'm getting the message "NO POWERCHUTE SERVERS RUNNING ON THE INTERNETWORK." I know that NLM is loaded and running and that the UPS serial port cable is connected.

What else could be wrong?

Thanks for anyone's help with this.

Sorry but I cannot find any of the old documentation on PC+ 4.1 for Netware. The error message indicates that the DOS system running pwrchute.exe cannot see ether the  Netware server or PC+ running on the server.

I am using IPX/SPX. This is a MS-DOS notebook computer. NO WINDOWS. Boots directly to DOS and I then run the NWCLIENT.BAT file to connect to Netware. Can access everything on the Netware server and I can even run RCONSOLE so I'm definitely connected to the server. And as I stated in my original post, the APCSMUPS.NLM module is loading and communications has been established with the UPS. I have no idea why the PWRCHUTE workstation application fails  to see a UPS connected to the server.
