Getting "Internal Comm Error" and Data Mismatch error" in log on ARU

hello all;

I have a few APC Air Removal Doors with the monitoring module installed that are giving me the error above. I can web into them as well as see them in Infrastructure manager. The model is ACF115 with firmware v.3.1.0. I have tried resetting the card to factory default and still will not clear the error. This is causing the monitoring module to not be able to communicate to the door its installed in- no fan speed, temp, etc... Anyone have a suggestion? Maybe a firmware flash or something?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Jon

How do you do, Angela!

Thank you very much and, yes, it will be great if somebody could help me with this situation. I can log on to ARU using telnet and web-interface too. Upgrading firmware goes always successful.

My working e-mail is:   minkin@lplib.ru

I will be really happy to have any possible help.

Thanks again and good day!

Hi,

There are two microprocessors inside the ARU SX unit – the Controller and the Network Management Card (NMC), each with its own firmware. An “Internal Com Error” indicates that the NMC cannot communicate with the Controller. The “Data Mismatch Error” indicates that the firmware versions are incompatible. The alarms may appear either individually or in conjunction with each other.

You'll just want to follow the steps I pasted above. But first, we do have a newer firmware for the NMC itself you can apply if you'd like. ftp://restrict:Kop$74!@ftp.apcc.com/restricted/hardware/nmcard/firmware/raru/371/apc_hw02_aos392_rar... is the download link for that .exe and you can apply it using one of the NMC1 methods listed here -> http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156047

Upgrading the RARU main controller firmware

Now that the new AOS and APP bin files have been upgraded, the main controller firmware on the RARU needs to be upgraded.

1. Select Update Downloader from the ARU user display interface/PowerView LCD menu (Main>Config>Update Dnloadr Code). The unit will display a download complete message when finished. Press the “ESC” button in the upper right hand corner of the “User Display Interface” to return to the main menu.

2. Select Update ARU firmware from the user display interface (Main>Config>Update ARU firmware). The unit will display a download complete message when finished. Press the “ESC” button in the upper right hand corner of the “User Display Interface” to return to the main menu.

Hope that helps you!

Hello Angela!

Thank you for your reply and for a new firmware. I upgraded firmware, reboot ARU by removing electricity, and I have a question about second part of your post:

I do not have such menu "Main>Config>Update Dnloadr Code" and "Main>Config>Update ARU firmware".

I have a photos of a ARU's screen in attachment. There are only 5 options in Config menu:

1.Device\Network

2.Units/Log Lamp/Etc

3.Manufacturer Data

4.Factory Defaults

5.Device ID

So. Help! 🙂  Really I do not know where are these config menu options you mentioned above.

Thank you very much again!

Hi Alexander,

Sorry for the delay. I had to see if anyone else knows anything because I don't know why the menus are different.

My colleagues in Russia suggested, if you are okay with it, that they call or email you which I'd give them your email in your profile which I can see as a Schneider moderator of this site. Alternatively, you could contact the support office directly if you prefer.

 +7 495 777 99 88
8 800 200-64-46

Above are the numbers they gave me.

Let me know what you prefer..wish I could help but I just don't know the answer myself so I need to have you engage the local experts.
