Merry Christmas to you all guys,
Could somebody know if an existing G3500 UPS 20 kVA can be upgraded to 30kVA?
Thank you all for your support during the whole year.
Mihail

Hello Brian,
Thanks for answering. I do know the suggested products, as I do know that you can parallel the G3500. But, with the MGE -APC merge, and the fact that Galaxy 3000 is discontinued now, I was just wondering why waste a box when you could put in all the harware rated for, let's say 30kVA, and do some minor changes, like a power module switch or why not keep the same power module and write a small software routine to derate| upgrade the box. Schneider has one of the best software team, and of course one of the best hardware team. It could be a very strong selling point, on top of the fact the G3500 is very reliable and tough UPS.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Dear Dear,
Previously, MGE had a model where you could upgrade the kVA. But I guess you're not familiar with that. Even Powerware were able to reach 300kVA just be improving the air flow....
Thank you anyway.

You are correct that some MGE models can be upgraded. However the previous post about the G3500 was correct in that it is not upgradable. You can parallel G3500's if you need additional capacity.
APC also makes the PX250/500 that can be installed lets say at 100kW and upgraded to 500kW in 25kW steps, or PX100 which can go up to 100kW in 10kW steps. Or even up to 1600kW in 200kW steps for the Symmetra MW.
The PX500 can be paralleled up to 2000kW and the MW can be paralleled in a variety of configurations up to 4000kW with redundancy.
