Helllo All,
I purchased an APC AP9630 and an APC 3000VA Smart UPS with SmartConnect, SMT3000RM2UC from Amazon. When I received them, I installed the 9630 in the UPS and hooked up the UPS to our system. Unfortunately the 9630 did not grab an address via DHCP. I opened the user manual and tried all of the options for assigning an IP address to the card. Nothing worked. I then purchased the little 1/8" proprietary console cable hoping I could access the console to determine the issue. When my tech on site connected the 1/8" cable, the jack came off of the board. Luckily we have an electronics calibration laboratory with electrical engineers and technicians in-house! They were able to repair the board. Unfortunately, I still have no console output.
I believe this board was bad from the get-go. However, since I'm now past the Amazon return period, they will not replace the card. I'm hoping someone here can advise me as to how to get this card replaced under APC warranty. Or it that is even an option.

First off, in regard to the warranty, I can only advise you to open a case with your local customer support team.

Now, as to getting the network access configured, I would suggest trying the ARP method described here

Please note that the AP9630 is considered an NMC2
It is important to note, that for the ARP method to work, you will need to disconnect the network cable and do a deep reset of the card, but pressing and holding the pinhole "reset" button on the card for 30 seconds.
Next step is to connect directly from the card to f.x. a laptop and then proceed with the method described in the document.
